Vehicle CQB & Ballistics (1 Day/8 H)

In an environment defined by constant mobility, mastering combat tactics within and around vehicles is a fundamental requirement for operational security. This course analyzes the ballistic complexities of firing from inside a vehicle cabin and engaging targets through transparent barriers (glass and windshields). Participants will learn to utilize the vehicle as active ballistic cover, optimizing lines of sight and fire through, under, and around the vehicle structure. The objective is to transform a potential point of vulnerability into an effective defensive asset.

Experience Requirements & Prerequisites

This is an Advanced Level course. Students must possess solid weapons handling skills and dynamic shooting proficiency.

  • Mandatory Prerequisite: Successful completion of the “Advanced Handgun” course or possession of a verified equivalent certification.
  • Licensing: Possession of a valid Personal Firearms License.
  • Safety Standards: Students who fail to demonstrate or maintain safety requirements, or who do not meet minimum technical competencies during the initial phases, may be excluded from the course at the technical staff’s discretion.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this training, the operator will have acquired the skills necessary for:

  • Vehicle Ballistic Analysis: Understanding bullet behavior when impacting metals, polymers, and laminated glass.
  • Glass Ballistics: Analyzing and compensating for deflection, deviation, and fragmentation effects as projectiles penetrate glass.
  • Emergency Procedures: Proper use of forced evacuation tools (glass breakers and seatbelt cutters).
  • Penetration Index: Evaluating the penetration capabilities of various calibers through vehicle bodywork and the effectiveness of the engine block as a primary ballistic barrier.
  • Aero-ballistic Effect (Vesting): Managing bullet trajectory along the linear surfaces of the vehicle to minimize exposure.
  • Cover vs. Concealment: Identifying specific points on the vehicle that offer genuine ballistic protection.
  • High-Velocity Threat Analysis: Assessing vehicle vulnerability against rifle or carbine ammunition.
  • Engagement Techniques: Executing shooting procedures from both inside and outside the cabin, utilizing the vehicle as a tactical support.
  • Barrier Shooting: Demonstrating accuracy when firing through windshields, windows, and structural panels.
